On October 4th, Egyptian Records released The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams. A set of previously unreleased Hank Williams lyrics with music written and performed by several artists, including Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Members Vince Gill, Rodney Crowell, Merle Haggard and 2011 inductee Alan Jackson.

The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams is a companion recording to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's Family Tradition: The Williams Family Legacy. This exhibition explores the music and personal history of the Williams family. The project is a joint venture between the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, CMF Records, Columbia Records, and Egyptian Records.

Originally conceived as a project for one artist who has been influenced by Hank Williams, A & R executive Mary Martin approached Bob Dylan. While Dylan is on the recording, the project developed into a multi-artist endeavor, with each writer and performer bringing their own unique style to the table.
