NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation (NaSHOF) Board of Directors has elected Roger Murrah, president of Murrah Music Corporation and a 2005 inductee into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, to a second term as chairman. Other officers elected by the NaSHOF Board to serve for 2007 include John Van Mol (vice chairman), chief executive officer of Dye, Van Mol & Lawrence; Wayland Holyfield (vice chairman), Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member; David Conrad (secretary), veteran publisher/A&R executive, and Lisa Harless (treasurer), senior vice president of AmSouth Bank's Entertainment and Sports Division. Also serving on the board are Karen Conrad, consultant to BMG Songs; Mike Dye, managing partner, GroupXcel; Layng Martine, Jr., songwriter; Jim McBride, songwriter; Tom Patten, president, Patten Properties, LLC; Don Schlitz, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member; Troy Tomlinson, president/chief executive officer, Sony/ATV Music Nashville; Michael L. Vaden, director of entertainment services, Crosslin, Vaden & Associates. Ex-officio members serving on the board are entertainment attorney David L. Maddox (counsel), David L. Maddox & Associates, P.C., and author/entertainment journalist Robert K. Oermann (historian). The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and preserving Nashville's unique songwriting legacy. Induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, established in 1970, is the highest honor that can be bestowed by the Nashville songwriting community. To date, the hall has 156 members, including Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, Woody Guthrie, Buddy Holly, Harlan Howard, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams Sr. ###
