Biography

(on songwriters coming to Nashville)"The odds sure are against the newcomer, but there's room for a great new songwriter. Probably not much room for a good one, the good ones get looked over. I'm going to tell the truth. It's not a daydream. It's a hard job. It can be a job or a hobby, but if it's a hobby then the returns are generally in hobby form. I did it for 14 years and nothing. Then all of a sudden I got 90 songs cut in a two-year period...Yeah, it's been worth it for me. When you do what you want to do, you're rich."
